How do I license my vehicle (the ZINARA disc)?
Pay ZINARA by vehicle mass and term. For a light car up to 1500kg it is US$40 for four months, up to US$120 for the year. Since July 2025 you also need a ZBC radio licence first.
In person
- ZINARA Bulawayo office
Directories disagree on the address (Treger House on Jason Moyo, or 90 Main Street) and ZINARA's own site does not list it, so call 0292 888939 to confirm before travelling.
What you need
- A current ZBC radio listener's licence, or, if no radio is fitted, a signed declaration to that effect before a commissioner of oaths. Since 15 July 2025 you cannot renew the disc or your insurance without one.
- The disc fee for a light vehicle up to 1500kg: US$40, US$60, US$80, US$100 or US$120 for a 4, 6, 8, 10 or 12-month term.
- Your registration book, and valid third-party insurance.
- Do not let it lapse for two years: a vehicle unlicensed that long is de-registered from the Central Vehicle Registry, and driving a de-registered vehicle is itself an offence.
- Registration fees were cut on 12 January 2026: first registration is now US$50 and a change of ownership with new plates is US$95.
