How do I get a learner's licence?
Apply to a VID examiner, sit the written test, and you hold it for 12 months. The minimum age is 16 for a car.

One of VID's 23 national depots. We have not been able to confirm its street address from a source we trust, so call before making a special trip.
What you need
- You must be at least 16 for a car or motorcycle class.
- The test fee: SI 119 of 2023 requires "a prescribed fee" but never actually states the amount, so it is set administratively. Ask the depot, and do not trust a figure from a price blog.
- Your learner's licence is valid for 12 months from the date it is issued.
- A duplicate, if you lose it, costs US$15.
